This detailed technical engraving of the famous Aircraft "Spitfire" has been
diamond engraved into black polished aluminium. The profile line drawing has
taken many hours of digitising by our team of experienced designers.
Mounted onto a 9" x 7" verneered plinth it is easily fitted to the wall
with the wall hanging slot.
The Supermarine Spitfire was one of the best fighter aircraft of its time, perhaps chiefly remembered as the symbol of the 1940 Battle of Britain.
Reginald Mitchell designed an aircraft that was to revolutionise fighter plane design, it
was never outclassed as a short-ranged piston-engined interceptor apart from a brief
period in 1941-1942, when it first encountered the Focke-Wulf FW-190. When production
finally ceased in 1949, more than 22,000 Spitfires had been built in some forty different variants.
